Boutique Product Placement

We are now starting a new section for product placement. We decided to do this because we as a magazine are here to help and support mompreneurs and growing businesses out there, as well as to connect you with moms and families that will appreciate your product! We are now helping small boutiques get a model, an ad, and great exposure, since we have a diverse group of mom fans that follow our magazine.

How it works:
1) We will give you an address of a model that you will send your product to
2) She or he, depending on what the product is, will get photos taken wearing your product
3) They will mail the photos back to us and we will chose which photos we are able to use

What you are getting out of this:
1) We will email you back over in high resolution, 5 photos that you will be able to use for advertisement
 2) A 1/2 page ad will be used for our fall or winter issue, depending on how soon you decide to work with us. We will add your website and logo to the photo, so please make sure to include that information in your email to us.

In order to participate, the fee is 20.00 dollars and the model must be allowed to keep the product. Let me know if this is something you are interested in so we can get your product out ASAP to the model and they can get the photos back in time.

Family Facts Pregnacy Organizer & Planner Review

Pam Socolow’s Family Facts Pregnancy Organizer & Planner Review!

Who around here is obsessed with organizing and all things organizer related? I for one am, but after getting pregnant my organizing skills decided to take a few turns for the worst. Where did I leave my address book that I spent hours coding? Where’s my pocket calendar? Where did I leave the business card to that store that had the awesome baby formula? I’d be lucky if I found it in a few weeks, and I couldn’t always depend on my husband to remember absolutely everything that I would wind up forgetting. When I received Pam Socolow’s Family Facts Pregnancy Organizer & Planner, I couldn’t stop worrying about losing it. After a few days of using it, I discovered (to my great satisfaction) that my days of brain-forgetting and item misplacement will probably forever remain if I’m pregnant, but at least this thing will back me up.
The number one advantage that the Family Facts Pregnancy Organizer & Planner has on its side is that it does everything. I have my calendar (bye-bye pocket calendar!), I have my contacts (farewell address book!), and I even have a section for health check-ups, and baby planning (goodbye random scraps of paper!). I adore the checklists available in the calendar section, the little tips randomly spewed at the bottom of pages, the fill-in-yourself calendar, and the bountiful supply of baby resources. I can track my maternity leave, my gift registry and my gift cards, and any baby names I like. I can even create checklists for what I need for myself and the baby, and any types of classes that I want to attend with my newborn! The delivery day bag check off list is great to have as well. This planner is geared towards pregnancy, and because of this it immediately helps my (shall we say, lacking) brain when it comes to staying organized for all things baby. If the vast amount of checklists isn’t great enough, there’s even stickers such as “appointment”, “class”, “week 28” and “hospital tour” that I can pull out and stick onto the calendar so I don’t have to fill it in myself. Helllooo lazy people like myself! Business cards don’t need to fly away anymore, since there’s even little plastic holders in the back for such things.

The Family Facts Pregnancy Organizer & Planner is awesomely packaged, a perfect size (not too big, not too small) and conveniently comes with a pen and pen slot built into it so I don’t have to fish around in my purse anymore. This is one I’ll be recommending to any pregnant lady who loves a good organizer.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com created by WebBizIdeas a Minneapolis SEO and Web Design firm. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commissions 16 CFR, Part 255 Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising. Baby Nap Cap Review

Adeline wearing the Baby Nap Cap!
Baby Nap Cap: What I love about the Baby Nap Cap, is that it doesn’t look or work like a contraption. When I read about a product and how it says that it promotes napping by blocking out distractions, and instead relax and calms my baby to regulate sleep, I immediately think “Whoa! This sounds awesome! So I just need a few plugs to hook it up and some extra space in that corner for this jig to fit in to… “ Thankfully with the Baby Nap Cap, it’s simple, it’s safe, it’s light, and it's great at blocking out distractions and the light so my baby can nap better.

I don’t have to worry about trying to get my baby to fit into some special baby bed or any of the likes—it’s as simple as putting a hat on their head that has a very soft visor. The Baby Nap Cap is a useful accessory for my baby, and I know I’ll be using it for quite a while.
Make sure to check out the Baby Nap Cap's website!

Review: Wee Can Too Edible Fingerpaint Tottle Set

Wee Can Too Edible Fingerpaint Tottle Set Review
As my daughter is entering into her toddler years she’s becoming more and more active. It’s hard to find anything that will keep her occupied for very long. I had thought about getting some type of craft or paint set for her, in hopes that she’d like it, but I was always worried that she’d eat it! She has a knack for wanting to taste everything that she plays with. Wee Can Too Edible Art Supply (www.weecantooart.com) was an absolute life-saver. I was able to try out their edible fingerpaint tottle set both myself and with my daughter. The great thing is that the fingerpaint set is organic, vegan free without wheat, sugar and preservatives. There are 5 colors made from real fruit and vegetable powders:  blueberries for a lush purple/blue, beets for a bright red/pink, orange and yellow from pumpkin, and spinach for a realistic green. They’re extremely simple to use, all you have to do is add water and shake and you’re ready to go. It’s important to keep in mind that after you use the paints, you need to refrigerate them. I had forgotten to do so with one bottle and it got a little runny. Fingerpaint Tottle Set
Isn't our goofy painting beautiful?
My daughter loved playing with the tottle set, and I felt at ease with her using them because I didn’t have to worry about her licking her fingers or eating the paints—if she did (and of course she did try a few times), I was content with knowing that the paints were all natural and safe! What I really liked about Wee Can Too’s fingerpaints was that it was easy to clean off.  Gone were the days when I would have to scrub and slave over the table trying to get the paint to come off, or worse, live with a stained tabletop. The paint set had a slight stain to them (especially on our fingertips) after they were wiped off, but with a little soap, it washed out right away. I loved the fact that since the paints were edible neither of us had to worry about cleaning our fingers through to switch to a different color. It was as easy as licking our fingers.
My favorite color to paint with is the yellow; I can’t get over how bright and luminous the color is. I found that all of the colors in the set had a very nice glow to them, and seemed brighter than other fingerpaints that I had used before. Their consistency at first didn’t feel like other non-natural store brand fingerpaints (the tottle set is a little grainier) but don’t let that fool you! It dried absolutely the same as other store brands, and kept its bright luster. The painting set definitely went a long way and is still going a long way in use. I had first doubted how much I would get out of the set since not even half of the bottle was full, but after adding water, I was surprised at how much the mixture thickened and expanded. I would highly recommend that you add water, literally almost to the very top. At first I added water to only a little bit above the middle, but this wasn’t enough and the paints were a bit too thick and grainy. It was so convenient though to only have to add more water to even it out, and if the paints ever got too watery, I would merely let them sit and chill out in the fridge for a while. Before I knew it, the consistency had gotten thicker.
Overall, the Wee Can Too Edible Fingerpaint Tottle set was excellent, and I had fun using them just as much as my daughter. They’re safe, convenient, and clean.

Prayers for Japan and Other Causes

Our hearts go out to the pain and suffering in Japan-- it was a true tragedy. As a reminder for everyone, keep praying and thinking about ways to help Japan!

To help promote a cause for today, we've just gotten wind of Protecting Childhood, an organization devoted to help unite and protect children from sexual abuse. We believe that sexual abuse is an overlooked topic when it comes to children, and that it should be paid more attention. Check it out!
